How Many Amps Should A Starter Draw. But shouldnt be anywhere near that high down in Texas. Under winter conditions this current can easily double when the oil is thick.

A good starter will normally draw 60 to 150 amps with no load on it and up to 250 amps under load while cranking the engine. No-load free spinning on the bench draws the least stalled prevented from turning draws massive quantities. Ive been having a slow cranking issue has brand new batteries already.

I cant exactly tell you but i know that itll draw about 60-150 amps with no load and can be up about 200 amps with load edit. If the amp draw is too high the starter needs to be replaced. To make up for the voltage drop the starter will draw more current thereby causing your fuse to blow. That said I really doubt my starter under load would exceed 5x times that 150 amps.
